Gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi says he wants to spend $15 billion on transportation projects across the state,

including these key projects. Cost figures are in 2007 dollars.

Highway 520 Floating Bridge

Rossi would add large pontoons to Gov. Christine Gregoire's proposed six-lane span so it could be widened to eight lanes someday. He says he can cut costs by finishing the bridge sooner.

Estimated cost: $3.3 billion

I-405 from Renton to Bellevue

Add two lanes from I-90 to Bellevue, and four lanes from

Renton to I-90.

Estimated cost: $927 million

U.S. Highway 2 in Snohomish County

Add passing lanes, rumble strips, wider shoulders, left-turn lanes and a short bypass highway in Monroe.

Estimated cost: $600 million

Cross-Base Highway (Pierce County)

Funding for east-west highway between two military bases, linking I-5 to Spanaway and the Frederickson area.

Estimated cost: $252 million

I-5 Columbia River Bridge

Partial funding for new bridge between Vancouver and Portland.

North Spokane Freeway

Estimated cost: $2.15 billion

Alaskan Way tunnel

Rossi favors some kind of tunnel, yet to be determined, to replace the elevated structure. Cost figure based on a narrow waterfront "tunnel lite" concept that the state previously deemed unsafe. Rossi also says a deep tunnel under downtown should be studied.
