Eric Peter Jacobsen of Lynnwood, skipper of the Alaska Ranger, will be honored April 5 at a private service for family, friends and members of the maritime community.
Jacobsen, 65, was one of five men who lost their lives when the 203-foot factory trawler sank in the Bering Sea Sunday.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. April 5 at the Northlake Christian Church, 19029 North Road in Bothell. It will be followed by a procession of family and friends to Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood. Arrangements are being made by Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home.
Jacobsen's survivors in the Puget Sound area are his wife, Patricia; son, Scott Jacobsen, of Bothell, daughter, Erica Tellez, and three grandchildren.
In Massachusetts, Jacobsen is survived by his mother, Vera Nammari; a sister, Carol Pratt; a brother, Fred Jacobsen; a daughter, Karen Jacobsen; a son, Carl Jacobsen, and two grandchildren.
Others who died in the sinking were the vessel's chief engineer, Daniel Cook, and first mate David Silveira, both of San Diego; crew member Byron Carrillo, of Los Angeles; and the vessel's fishing master, Satoshi Konno, of Japan.
