Kent man charged in wife's death
Seattle Times staff reporter
A Kent man was charged Friday with first-degree murder — domestic violence for the shooting death of his wife in their home Sept. 2.
Tracy John Floren, 64, a former Boeing employee, is being held in King County Jail in lieu of $400,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned April 9 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
His wife, Nancy Floren, 56, the chief financial officer for Husky Trucks, was found dead on the floor of their home in unincorporated King County near Kent after their home-security company called police saying the alarm had been activated, according to charging papers.
Detectives said a gun found near Floren's body had not been fired. According to the charging papers, someone had trampled through the couple's backyard and nearby retention field near the time of the slaying, leaving a pair of fluorescent green earplugs behind and tracking fresh grass into Tracy Floren's car.
Also, glass fragments were found in the car, and a window pane in the garage had been scored with a sharp instrument, according to documents.
Floren told police he had been at a support group starting at 5:45 that morning, though other attendees told police he didn't arrive until about 6:20 a.m., according to the report.
