Two bodies found in burned tent in Olympia
OLYMPIA — The remains of two men have been found in a burned tent in a wooded area of Olympia.
Police Cmdr. Tor Bjornstad says the burned remains were found today by campers in the west part of town. Investigators believe a tent or tarpaulin sleeping structure caught fire and collapsed onto the pair.
Bjornstad says investigators are unsure of what happened, but it's being treated initially as a crime scene. The men's identities and cause of death remain undetermined pending autopsies.
Police say there are several homeless encampments in the area.
