Teen daughter, boyfriend held in Spokane man's death

Spokane police have arrested a 16-year-old girl and her boyfriend in the slaying of the girl's father.

Police found the body of 39-year-old Dan Wortham late Sunday afternoon in his home after his parents said they had not seen him since Friday. The attack reportedly involved a baseball bat, a sword and a foot-long box wrench.

Police located the teens _ 16-year-old Jackie Wortham and 18-year-old Edmund Washington _ Monday afternoon at a house frequented by runaways.

Spokane police Lt. Dave McGovern says the teens have confessed to the killing. They have been booked for investigation of first-degree murder.

Investigators say the daughter lived at the family home but was a frequent runaway.
