ALBANY, Ore. — Linn County officials have closed the courthouse in downtown Albany for the day, saying they have had an "anthrax threat".

Commissioner Roger Nyquist (NEYE'-quist) says a county employee found writing on a courthouse door and some packages inside early Monday morning that indicated a threat.

He says the Linn County Sheriff's Department and Albany Fire Department have been conducting a HAZMAT inspection and the package will be taken to a lab for analysis.

The results are expected to come sometime Monday. Nyquist said a decision will be made Monday afternoon on whether or not the courthouse will reopen Tuesday.
