Area road closures have become a way of life.
A four-month lane closure on the Interstate 90 center roadway between Bellevue and Mercer Island is under way to improve travel for HOVs and buses.
Crews will close up to two lanes of westbound I-90 from 76th Avenue Southeast to Bellevue Way overnight beginning Monday night to restripe and shift lanes to the north. Drivers should watch out for changing lane widths and alignments.
The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second at 11 p.m. One lane will open by 4 a.m. with all lanes open by 5 a.m. the next day.
Until late June or early July, the northernmost lane of the center roadway will be closed from 80th Avenue Southeast to Bellevue Way to provide crews with a safe work zone.
For more details see www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/I90/twowaytransit.
Expect weekend delays with the closure of southbound Interstate 5 between the Interstate 405 interchange and South 188th Street to allow crews to install a girder. Crews will start closing lanes at 7 p.m. Saturday with all lanes of southbound I-5 closed by 11:59 p.m. All lanes are expected to reopen by noon Sunday. Also, South 178th Street over I-5 is scheduled to close from 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday. For details see www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/I5/s178thoverpass/.
