Camas teen injured in "skitching" accident
CAMAS — Police say a 19-year-old skateboarder is expected to survive injuries he suffered when he was run over by a friend while trying to hold on to a moving car in Camas.
Det. Carol Buck says Jacen Abbott is in serious condition at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland with head injuries.
She says the Thursday night incident was an accident. She says the friend who was driving didn't know Abbot was trying to "skitch" a ride.
