State campaign donors like Obama, Paul
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Ron Paul had the most donors in the last three months of last year in Washington.
Campaign finance reports show that Obama had 2,600 donors -- more than three times the number backing Hillary Clinton -- and Paul had more than 1,000.
Donors of $200 or more must be disclosed to the Federal Election Commission.
Obama's campaign received $1.7 million in the reporting period, Clinton $992,000.
Paul's campaign received $551,000. Mitt Romney's campaign had fewer donors, but they averaged more money for a total of $707,000. John McCain's campaign received $339,000.
The donors indicate likely supporters at Saturday's caucuses in Washington. Democrats will use the party meetings to select nominating delegates. Republicans will use the caucuses to select about half of their delegates.
