Not even a compound fracture on his right leg during a construction accident Friday afternoon could keep Rolondo Dudley, 32, from rooting for the Seahawks.

Strapped to a gurney, he was lowered 10 floors by a crane to awaiting Seattle Fire Department medics.

Before being taken to Harborview Medical Center, Dudley raised his right arm and gave a thumbs up to the small crowd gathered around him.

"Go Seahawks!" he said.

Dudley's girlfriend, Nisha Mann, whom Dudley had requested be called after the accident, was at the scene. "He said he was OK and he said, 'I love you,' " said Mann.

As for his remembering the Seahawks en route to the emergency room, Mann said her boyfriend "IS the 12th man."

Dudley is a steelworker at the construction site of Mirabella, a 12-story, 377-unit complex of "stylish senior living" being built along Fairview Avenue, between Denny Way and John Street.

The accident was reported at 3:40 p.m. after material fell on Dudley.
