Seattle police kill 2 pit bulls
Two pit bulls attacked a German shepherd and may have cornered witnesses to the attack before being shot and killed by a Seattle police officer Sunday afternoon.
It wasn't clear if any people were injured in the incident.
Police spokesman Jeff Kappel said police were called when two "large, muscular" and "fairly good-sized" dogs went into a yard in the 9700 block of 57th Avenue South and attacked a German Shepherd, injuring it. By the time police arrived, there were reports the dogs had "cornered" at least one person in another yard.
When the police officer intervened, the dogs charged him, and he shot them in self-defense, Kappel said.
Police were working on finding the pit bulls' owner, Kappel said.
