The identity of the victim was not made public and the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, said Cmdr. Stan Conrad.

The accident took place about 7:40 a.m. at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and 229th Avenue Southeast, just north of Interstate 90.

Traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction north and southbound on East Lake Sammamish Parkway, a main north-south route leading to the Sammamish Plateau.
