Redmond police are investigating a Friday morning accident in which a pedestrian was killed by a dump truck.

Just before 8:30 a.m., a 21-year-old Bellevue man, was attempting to cross Northeast 36th Street, police said. At the same time, the dump truck was turning onto Northeast 36th Street from the northbound lane of 148th Avenue Northeast. The pedestrian was struck by the dump truck's trailer.

"At this point, we don't have any reason to believe there was any fault on the driver," said Lt. Tim Gately.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old Bothell man, is cooperating with the investigation.
