A 22-year-old Bellingham man died and two other men were hurt early Sunday after the truck in which they were riding flipped near the 164th Street exit in Lynnwood.

Andrew R. Stahley died. Joshua Kevin Parker, 20, of Bellingham, was taken to a hospital, treated and released. Johnny Lee Miller, 27, of Blaine, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The Chevrolet Avalanche the men were in was southbound on Interstate 5 about 6:15 a.m. when it left the roadway, struck the guardrail and overturned, according to the State Patrol report. Two of the men, including Stahley, weren't wearing seat belts.

Arrest made as death is investigated

Seattle police arrested a man in his 80s Saturday in Southeast Seattle after a report that he had shot his son.

When police arrived at the house in the 4600 block of South Cooper Street about 7:30 p.m., the man walked into the front yard with the phone in his hand. After police placed the man in the back of a patrol car, they found a man in his early 50s dead in the bedroom. A woman in her mid-70s also was in the bedroom.

Seattle police homicide detectives are investigating, but no other information was available late Sunday, department spokeswoman Renee Witt said.

Heart Walk raises $2.3 million

Seattle upheld its record of having the largest Start! Heart Walk in the country Saturday when it raised $2.3 million for the American Heart Association. About 9,000 walkers turned out at Qwest Field for the 3.2-mile walk on the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

The Seattle event became the first Heart Walk in the country to have two company teams — Safeco Insurance and Washington Mutual — raise more than $300,000. Each team had more than 800 walkers registered.

King County Judge Michael C. Hayden accepted a Lifestyle Change Award at the walk after his commitment to healthy eating and exercise helped him lose 25 pounds and improve his back pain. Hayden and his co-award winners — Sirita Jacox, who works for Premera Blue Cross, and Eric Svenson, who works for Washington Mutual — were nominated by their co-workers.

Locke joins Clinton's campaign in state

Former Gov. Gary Locke has signed on as state co-chairman of Hillary Rodham Clinton's bid for president.

Locke will join King County Executive Ron Sims and U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee as state co-chairmen for Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Inslee is national co-chairman of Clinton's energy and environment advisers and Sims is a member of the panel.

Locke and the Clinton campaign announced his endorsement in an interview with The Associated Press.

"Gary was a visionary governor and he will be a tremendous asset to our campaign as we take our message of change across Washington," Clinton said in a statement. "I'm honored to have his support."
