State Patrol troopers say an aggressive beaver caused a tree to fall across an Interstate 405 offramp.

The beaver gnawed through a tree nearly 60 feet high sometime Friday night, causing it to block the southbound 405 offramp to westbound Highway 520, said State Patrol spokesman Jeff Merrill.

The tree was cleared away two hours later.

Troopers notified the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

"If they catch up with him [the beaver], they can deal with it," Merrill added.
