Snoqualmie
Another semitrailer has lost a wheel — this time with a wheel and tire falling off a westbound truck on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie, the State Patrol reported.
The incident took place about 10 a.m. Wednesday when a Freightliner truck owned and operated by Agri-Pac Trucking from Benton County was traveling west near Snoqualmie.
The wheel and tire came to rest along the shoulder, with no injuries or damage to other vehicles.
Troopers found the wheel had cracked and worked loose, shearing off lug nuts and disconnecting from the axle, reported Trooper Jeff Merrill, public-information officer for the Patrol.
The Patrol has investigated at least five incidents of trucks losing wheels and tires in the past several weeks, including a May 11 loss that resulted in the death of a Bothell man on Interstate 5.
No common factors have been found in the incidents, said Merrill, with each wheel loss attributed to a different equipment failure.
In the recent case, troopers also found the trailer brakes were not properly adjusted.
The 47-year-old driver from Royal City was cited for driving with defective equipment and the trailer taken out of service until repairs could be made.
Kenmore
Affordable-housing agreement reached
The city of Kenmore has entered into an agreement with a nonprofit to help provide affordable housing in its downtown core.

The agreement was reached earlier this month with the Housing Resources Group, a low-income-housing developer that has created some 2,200 such units in the Seattle area.
The partnership arranged between the Kenmore Partners, the city and the Housing Resources Group is another step toward redeveloping a 9.72-acre site known as the Northwest Quadrant that's now a shopping center but is intended to become the core of a redone downtown area.
The space is at 68th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 181st Street and will be called Kenmore Village by the Lake. Community meetings about the project's open-space aspects are to be scheduled in the fall and talks are under way with a potential anchor tenant, possible a grocery.

Issaquah
Retirement party set for school chief
The community is invited to help send Issaquah School District's Superintendent Janet Barry into retirement at a celebration Wednesday at Pickering Barn.
The event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1730 10th Ave. N.W., Issaquah.
The event will commemorate her 10 years of district leadership. Those attending should bring a note, card, photos or other well wishes for Barry on a piece of paper no bigger than 8.5 by 11 inches.
The pages will be put together in a scrapbook for Barry, with entertainment by elementary- and high-school singers.
