Albertsons hosts Walk for Rice, a benefit for the Asian Counseling & Referral Service (ACRS) food bank, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Seattle's Seward Park, 5902 Lake Washington Blvd. S.

The food bank supplies culturally appropriate food to about 5,000 low-income Asian/Pacific-American households every month.

Money earned at the event will help to buy staples like rice, tofu and vegetables for those most in need.

The event will feature a 2.5-mile walk/run, entertainment and a "Combo Bowl," a competitive team activity. A Super Paws costume contest will feature pets and their owners dressed in superhero costumes.

Registration is at 8 a.m., and the walk/run starts at 10:30 a.m.

To register online, go to www.walkforrice.com/register_form.html or call 206-695-7551 for more information.
