Suspect in attempted kidnapping near Auburn still at large

King County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who reportedly tried to kidnap two teens at gunpoint near Auburn on Thursday.
The teens, a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl, were walking on 170th Avenue Southeast, near Southeast Lake Holm Road, when they came upon a man who appeared to be having car trouble, said sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart. After the teens asked if he was having trouble, the man grabbed a gun from his trunk and ordered them into the backseat. They complied.
The man had plastic zip-ties to bind the teens, but was apparently distracted by another vehicle before he had a chance to use them, Urquhart said. The teens then jumped out of the man's vehicle. The alleged kidnapper then drove away.
The suspect is described as white, around 45 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches and 135 lbs. He has brown hair, green eyes, a long pony tail down to the middle of his back and thick-rimmed glasses.
