A mildly autistic boy who went missing Wednesday morning from Bellevue Community College has been found safe, police say.

Derek Jones, 17, apparently walked to his Renton home, Bellevue police say.

His family feared that he wouldn't be able to take care of himself in unfamiliar surroundings and could seek wooded areas to avoid noise.

Jones had been last seen walking away from a class at BCC at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. After media reports of his disappearance, Bellevue police said they received a lot of calls for help from the public.
