Seattle and University of Washington police are investigating reports that a man is stalking members of the UW's women's gymnastics team.
Reports of phone and e-mail harassment were filed with both police agencies earlier this month.
A 19-year-old woman who lives off campus said she received calls on her cellphone over several days in early April, including one in which the caller described what she had been wearing the day before, according to a Seattle police report. Three teammates also received calls that they think are from the same person.
UW police received a complaint from a 22-year-old gymnast on Monday who had received several e-mails from a stalker, said Ray Wittmier, assistant chief of UW police. His department is still investigating, but he said the person suspected of sending the e-mails is a 29-year-old man who lives out of state.
It's probably the same suspect being investigated by Seattle police, said spokesman Sean Whitcomb.
The UW's gymnastics coach has been notified.
