The percentage of voters rejecting both a tunnel and a new elevated freeway are staying about the same, according to results the King County elections office released at 4:30 p.m.

In the election to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct, 70 percent are rejecting digging a four-lane tunnel and 56 percent are rejecting building a new elevated viaduct on the waterfront in Seattle's first all-mail election.

Including today's results, the elections office has counted 124,090 votes, or 73 percent of the ballots it expects to receive. Interim elections director Jim Buck today estimated total voter turnout at 50 percent.

In ballots counted by last night, 70 percent voted no on the tunnel and 55 percent voted no on a new viaduct.
