Seattle City Council members' priorities for 2007

Council members will get three minutes each at today's meeting to talk about their top two accomplishments last year and a primary goal for each in 2007 that relates to the committees they lead. Those goals include:

Revive the city's commitment to putting neighborhood plans into action

Richard Conlin

Create a zero-waste strategy that will cut the city's contribution to global warming

David Della

Ensure broad community participation in planning changes for Seattle Center

Jan Drago

Develop a pedestrian- and traffic-safety plan

Jean Godden

Strengthen customer service at City Light and plan for broadband fiber access to every home in the city

Nick Licata

Craft a long-range plan for improving police staffing and public safety

Richard McIver

Expand contracting and construction opportunities for women- and minority-owned businesses

Tom Rasmussen

Come up with a sustainable financial support plan for senior centers

Peter Steinbrueck

Promote a thriving central waterfront for residents and visitors
