With a forecast of cold and snowy weather for tonight and tomorrow, Seattle police are reminding drivers to be cautious.

Slow down in icy conditions. If the roads are slippery, consider taking the bus, said spokesman Sean Whitcomb.

Whitcomb also said that nearly every time it's cold, people leave their vehicles idling to warm them up and sometimes those vehicles get stolen.

"If it's really cold when people wake up, and there's frost on the windshield, there's a temptation to start the car up and leave it," he said. "The danger there is that this provides an opportunity to someone who might want to steal that car."
