Seattle police and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are investigating the theft of bullets, a bullet proof vest and other gear from a fisheries officer's locked car.

The officer, whose name was not released, had parked his car in the secure garage at the Dwell Roosevelt condominiums in North Seattle when his car was prowled, said NOAA spokesman Brian Gorman. The break-in occurred either late on Halloween night or early Wednesday morning.

Also taken, Gorman said, was a duty belt, four Glock handgun magazines and a shirt and jacket bearing the words "Federal Agent." NOAA doesn't forbid officers from leaving such items in a locked car, Gorman said.
