Police say road rage led to shooting

An apparent road-rage shooting left a 23-year-old Kirkland man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday, a motorcycle and a car collided in the 13200 block of 100th Avenue Northeast near Kirkland's Juanita neighborhood. According to the King County Sheriff's Office, the motorcyclist then pulled a gun and fired multiple shots.

The driver of the car was able to call 911 and flag down a sheriff's deputy who was patrolling the area, officials said. The victim was also able to point out a suspect, a 48-year-old Woodinville man, who was arrested. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Fatal-crash victims are identified

The State Patrol has identified three victims of a fatal head-on crash between Port Angeles and Sequim.

The accident, which happened about 1 p.m. Monday, closed Highway 101 for five hours.

Troopers arrived to find a Ford Explorer engulfed in flames after it had crossed the center line and struck a Toyota 4Runner, according to the State Patrol.

A 3-year-old girl and a 9-month-old girl, both of Port Angeles, had been pulled from the Explorer by witnesses, who were unable to save Robert Norman Jr., 39, of Sequim.

The driver, Ericka Larson, 27, of Port Angeles, who apparently had been thrown from the Explorer, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with severe leg injuries.

The driver of the 4Runner, Abani Biswas, 43, of Beaverton, Ore., died at Olympic Memorial Hospital in Sequim. Ankita Biswas, 7, also of Beaverton, died at Harborview. Two other passengers, a 3-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman, were taken to Olympic Memorial Hospital.
