Monorail car-tab tax to end June 30

Seattle's car-tab tax for the unbuilt monorail will expire June 30 — two months earlier than expected.

The Seattle Monorail Project board voted Thursday night to end the tax sooner largely because the sales of surplus station properties are bringing in more money than expected.

People with June tabs still must pay, even if they procrastinate until July or later.
