Tent City to move to Lutheran church

Bellevue

Tent City 4 will move Monday from Temple B'nai Torah to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, at 3030 Bellevue Way N.E.

The homeless camp will stay at St. Luke's until May 14, and then move to another city. Under a consent decree finalized last month, no one can host a camp again in Bellevue until May 2007.

During Tent City 4's first stint in the city, at the temple in the Crossroads neighborhood, the temple was engaged in a legal fight over the city's restrictions on the camp. But the consent decree settled the legal fight, and the camp's move to St. Luke's has received little opposition from church neighbors, said Senior Pastor Tom Kidd.
