The dog, an emaciated tan and white pit bull with a silver pinch collar around its neck, was found dead Tuesday on Thorndyke Avenue West. Animal Control officers said the dog appeared to have been starved, kept inside a residence and then dumped just before or after its death. "This is a tragic and unfortunate incident," Seattle Animal Shelter Director Don Jordan. "This dog clearly suffered tremendously prior to its death." Animal cruelty is a crime in Washington that can lead to up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine. The $2,500 reward is being offered for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
