A 22-year-old Seattle man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries Friday night after he was struck by a car near Northgate Mall.

The pedestrian had stepped into a crosswalk near First Avenue Northeast and Northeast 103rd Street about 5 p.m. when he was struck by a Honda, said Seattle police spokesman Rich Pruitt. Though there wasn't a crossing signal, the man had the right of way, Pruitt said.

The 21-year-old Everett driver said her view had been obstructed by another vehicle, Pruitt said. She wasn't arrested. Police are still investigating.
