The Seattle man who led police on a wild, televised pursuit Tuesday afternoon across Eastside freeways — and even one golf course — did practically the same thing almost a year ago in Shoreline.

Ryan Wade-Everett, the 24-year-old Seattle man who also goes by the first name "Bryan," stole a Jetta last November, swerved into oncoming traffic going more than 90 mph and struck several cars, according to documents filed in King County Superior Court. He even tried to yank a woman from her car before King County sheriff's deputies and crime-fighting bystanders caught him in Shoreline, court papers say.

In February, Wade-Everett pleaded guilty to hit-and-run, possession of stolen property, assault and attempted robbery. This week he hopped behind the wheel of a stolen Subaru, led a pack of police on a chase across Interstate 405, various highways, residential streets and Wayne Golf Course. He collided with cars and even pulled alongside several people to demand their cellphones.

Tuesday's pursuit began about 3:20 p.m., when an off-duty State Patrol trooper noticed Wade-Everett and a 16-year-old female allegedly prowling cars in the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue, said Bellevue police spokesman Michael Chiu. Police arrested the girl, but Wade-Everett got away.

Wade-Everett then allegedly broke into three homes and unsuccessfully tried to get residents to give him their car keys. He eventually stole a silver Honda and drove between two officers before trying to collide with a Bellevue police car, Chiu said.

At some point he ditched the Honda for the Subaru and led police on a chase into Kirkland and Bothell, Chiu said. Near 100th Avenue Northeast, he crashed through a fence and sped across the golf course.

He then continued south to Kirkland and was arrested when he pulled into a driveway in the 500 block of 19th Avenue. The chase ended about 5:25 p.m.

Wade-Everett has been booked into King County Jail on suspicion of burglary, robbery, car theft and eluding police.

Shoreline resident Caroline Jeffries, whose car was hit by Wade-Everett during the November crash, was surprised to learn he had been arrested for another police chase.

"He obviously didn't learn a lesson," Jeffries said. "He should not be allowed out on the streets. It doesn't matter if he has a driver's license or not. He steals cars and assaults people."
