Monday, November 15, 2004 - Page updated at 05:40 P.M. Kent woman arrested after two children found dead in her apartment By Brandon Sprague
Their 36-year-old mother was arrested on suspicion of criminal mistreatment and homicide and booked into the Kent City Jail, according to Kent Police. The dead boys were identified as Raiden Robinson, six weeks old, and Justice Robinson, 16 months old. A third son, 2 ½-years-old, also was found in the apartment. He was checked over by paramedics and then placed in the care of his grandmother, police said. Police went to the apartment in 10800 block of Southeast 239th Street yesterday after the children's paternal grandmother called 9-1-1, said Kent Police spokesman Paul Petersen. The grandmother telephoned the apartment trying to reach the mother, but got no response, Petersen said. The grandmother then went to the apartment and knocked on the door but, again, got no answer, Petersen said. Officers were called in and found the dead children when they entered the apartment. The mother is expected to appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing tomorrow morning, Petersen said. Copyright © 2004 The Seattle Times Company
