Fans say Clinton worth the wait
Former President Bill Clinton said in an interview last night that he has been "a little overwhelmed" by the number of people waiting — sometimes overnight — to see him at his book signings, and the affection they show him.

"This is the first time I've had a chance to be with crowds and had a chance to listen to people since leaving office," he said. "It's really been so moving."

People have thanked him for the Family and Medical Leave Act, AmeriCorps, job training and other legislation he promoted as president.

He rejected criticism that Sen. John Kerry does not have the same easy manner with people that he does. Kerry has shown he can win people over with "a strong reassuring manner," Clinton said.

"All politicians have different personalities. If you watched him in Iowa when he caught on like a house on fire, and in New Hampshire, you know."
