Wednesday, June 30, 2004 - Page updated at 05:06 P.M. Clinton fans line up at Costco By Tyrone Beason
By 11 a.m. the line for the first of two book signing events to promote Clinton's memoir, "My Life," snaked through the parking lot and down an access road at the Issaquah store. Costco staff members were turning away latecomers because all 1,500 people who would be allowed inside for the event had been marked with a yellow wristband.
Terry Taylor, owner of Giggles nightclub in Seattle, said he joined the line at 11:30 last night when he heard that a crowd was forming at the store. "I think he's one of the top five presidents we've ever had," Taylor said. "You don't often get a chance like this." Clinton was to attend a second book signing at the Elliott Bay Book Company in Pioneer Square tonight, where another 1,500 people already have tickets. Copyright © 2004 The Seattle Times Company
