Rave "To the pickup driver on Interstate 5 who witnessed an accident Feb. 6 and stopped to give a statement to the State Patrol. Thanks to you, we will not have to pay any insurance deductible, my husband was found not at fault so our insurance rates will not go up and we will have a rental car paid for the several weeks it will take to get the car repaired."
Rant "Not eight hours after sending my rave [above], I have a Rant for the person who hit our parked rental car Monday night in a lot near the Seattle waterfront. You left the scene without leaving your name or insurance information, and now we are stuck paying a $500 deductible and other charges. Come forward and take responsibility."
Rave "For the Olympia police officer who — yes — pulled me over near the Capitol for speeding. Apparently, I was doing 38 in a 25-mph zone. I explained that I was lost and looking for a way out of my mess. He reminded me of the speed limit then directed me to my destination. He could have been rude, and he definitely could have written me a ticket. Instead he gave me the benefit of the doubt. I really was clueless."
Rant "To the citizens of the Northwest: Your holiday cheer is really tacky when it extends past January. Oh, and please don't go out and buy St. Patrick's Day, Easter and Fourth of July seasonal décor. Instead spend your money on nice plants — that's a decoration that everyone appreciates!
Rant "To all those bus riders who only start looking for their fare when they are standing in front of the fare box. Why not use the time you spend waiting for the bus or during the ride to start looking for your fare, pass or transfer?"
Rant "To all the drivers who don't give pedestrians their right-of-way, even on the busy streets. Yes, I saw and heard you, I pretended not to so you would stop. I was ready to back off, but you don't know that, so thanks for obeying the law. Get out of your car for a change, or at least obey the law."
