Rant For all the people who don't silence their smartphones and tablets in public places. When I'm trapped with you on the bus or in a waiting room, I don't want to listen to the chime of your newly arrived text message, the "whoosh" of your every sent email and all the rest! Have some consideration for those around you and silence your phone or tablet. And if you're watching a video, use earphones!

Rave For the students at Pinehurst K-8 school for planning a celebration with handmade cards and letters for the 90th birthday of a storyteller volunteer.

Rant and Rave Rant to whoever stole the cover to my water meter. What on earth are you going to do with it? Rave to the Seattle Water Utilities for replacing the cover the same day I called and reported it missing.

Rave To the young couple who got out of their car to help an 81-year-old woman who had fallen and drove her to get help. May they be blessed as they have blessed.

Rant To my neighbor who believes it's acceptable to play his electric guitar late into the night. Your inconsiderate solo shows have cost me countless hours of sleep.

Rave To the trustworthy and thoughtful person who found my wallet buried in mud in a parking lot and returned it with all the contents. The amazing honesty and kindness of strangers reminds me to strive to be kind and considerate.

Rant To people who don't trim their foliage at intersections, making entry into traffic flow life-threatening. Is it the owner's responsibility or is there a city code?

Rave To Metro driver Rodney who stopped his bus to pick up a blind and deaf Chihuahua who was wandering disoriented in the street and brought him to safety at a nearby pub where neighbors took him home and cared for him until his grateful owners recovered him.

Rant To the fences that block the view of the construction of the new Husky Stadium. We want to get excited about it!
