Rant & Rave
Rant & Rave: Don't urinate near my tailgate party!
Rant & Rave: Seattle Times readers tee off on football fans who urinate in public and Mayor McGinn's comments about President Obama's visit. They also cheer for EMTs and parking angels.

Rave To the people of Seattle, the EMTs, Virginia Mason Medical Center and the W Hotel with heartfelt thanks for their kindness, friendliness and helpfulness after I tripped, fell and broke my ankle while visiting your beautiful city. Everyone had a kind word, a big smile and helpful attitude. My hotel did everything they could to make me comfortable. The taxi driver that took me to the airport made sure that I was safely in a wheelchair before driving off. I didn't have the Seattle vacation I'd planned (I did have a lovely view of the Space Needle out of the ambulance window!) but the warmth and kindness of the people of Seattle far outweighed the accident.
Rant To the thief who stole our Dino Rossi sign from the median on our cul-de-sac less than 12 hours after we placed it there. You are not our "neighbor" any longer, you're an immature coward. People like you are the reason we are preparing to move out of this neighborhood.
Rave To the nice man who paid for my parking at Hec Ed. I didn't know it was cash only and I didn't have enough money. I was able to park, get in the very long line and see Patty Murray and Barack Obama. May you have good parking karma!
Rant To Mayor McGinn for complaining about the cost of President Obama's visit. It's an honor to have the president visit and such a comment is an embarrassment to the citizens of Seattle.
Rave For the woman who saw me running to catch the bus in the dark early morning. She waited for the bus to stop, pulled her car over and got out to tell the driver someone was coming. Thank you so much!
Rant To the male Husky fans who chose to use a cedar tree in the UW parking lot as their private urinal. Grow up and walk to the Porta-Potties! Those of us tailgating around the tree don't want to hear you urinating. And one guy's comment that he had been urinating at this tree for 20+ years was disgusting. What boorish, disrespectful behavior.
