Rant & Rave
Rave To the Vashon Island Fire Dept., WS Ferries and Harborview Medical Center. When our 5-year-old daughter suffered a severe broken leg on Vashon Island, the local FD aid was on the scene within 5 minutes; the ferries were rerouted and doubled their speed to Seattle and the entire staff of medical professionals at Harborview was nothing short of incredible. My wife and I can't thank everyone enough for their help in transporting a scared and hurt little girl to safety, and the medical attention and kindness that she received was second to none.
Rant To the person(s) who smashed dozens of stolen light bulbs all over Bitter Lake Wading Pool and playground. What did you hope to accomplish by endangering children? You disgust me.
Rave To the two nice men who changed my flat tire in Duvall. They were coming home from playing golf and could have just passed by and headed home, but they stopped to help me and were so polite.
Rant To all the dog owners who say "it's friendly" as they allow their dog to lick my kids in the face. I don't assume you love my kids; don't assume we love your dog.
Rave To everyone at Costco who helped me when I was having difficulty walking. An employee rushed over to help me to a seat. Others came to my aid, including a woman with her arm in a cast. She insisted on buying me a frozen yogurt although the line was long and wouldn't even let me pay for it. Her kindness and generosity brought tears to my eyes.
Rant To people who drive recklessly to get one more car length ahead. Relax, people. You're only shaving a few seconds off your commute. It's going to take a lot more of your time when you cause an accident.
Rave To the cyclist who fixed my bike's flat tire, showed me how to fix a flat and gave me a tube. Did it all with a smile and refused to take my offer of cash.
Rant To the people who stole beer from our garage! Beer is expensive but we share with our friends. I wonder if our homeowners insurance will cover it?
