Secret Garden Tour
Green thumbs seeking inspiration may enjoy exploring the lush plantings and quiet corners of five beautiful and hidden gardens featured in the Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park Tour, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today. Master gardeners will be on hand for questions and conversation as artists and musicians work and perform in each garden. Tickets for the garden tour are $15 (cash or check only) and are available at the Garden Fair Plant Sale taking place on the lower level of Lake Forest Park Towne Centre at the intersection of Bothell Way N.E. and Ballinger Way N.E. from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (206-366-3302, www.secretgardensoflakeforestpark.com or www.thirdplacecommons.org).

Iranian Festival: Persian culture is the focus of a free festival beginning at 11 a.m. today at Seattle Center House. The event schedule is packed — there are Rumi poetry readings at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; the Delshodeh Dance Ensemble performs at 4 and 5 p.m.; and screenings of Rick Steves' "Iran: Yesterday and Today" play at 1 and 3 p.m. A Persian Tea House is serving authentic tea and sweets all day. Family Day at the Wing: Free admission to the Wing Luke Asian Museum on this third Saturday of the month, with extended hours from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. From 1-3 p.m., kids can learn creative ways to make soft sculpture using fabric. 719 S. King St., Seattle (206-623-5124 or www.wingluke.org).
Children's Museum, Seattle: Dads accompanied by their children get free admission for Father's Day Sunday. From 1-2 p.m., the museum will celebrate a "Cultural Sunday" with dance, music and songs of Eastern Europe with the Radost Folk Ensemble. Seattle Center House; $7.50 adults and children. Former TV Bachelor Jason Mesnick: With son Ty, he'll be taking part in today's free Father's Day Fun-athlon from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bellevue Downtown Park, next to Bellevue Square Mall. The event is sponsored in part by jasonsplace.com, a Web site Mesnick launched to foster community among single parents. Special activities created just for dads and kids include a piggyback run and gummy worm push-up contest. The Mariner Moose also is expected, and Nike will be giving away free gear to the first 150 people to show up.
