Rant To anyone who drops off a domesticated animal in a park. Do you really think that the pet rabbit, hand-tamed ferret, or snake will be anything but some other animal's dinner? Take some responsibility — if you no longer want that cute kitty or bunny or when it's gotten bigger then find a rescue society or shelter. Don't make someone else have to take it in, or scrape up its remains.
Rave and rant Enthusiastic rave for the volunteers who made Duvall Days a success, huge rant to the few people who showed up wearing jackets and pants sporting white supremacist symbols. Don't bother to come next year, since you didn't look like you had fun anyway.
Rave To the Husky Football Players that stop by Seattle Children's hospital. Their presence is so uplifting to the kids there. My granddaughter loved having her picture taken with Jake Locker. Way to go, Huskies!
Rant To the woman who turns her black lab loose every morning then later again in the early evening in the playground and playfield at Greenwood Elementary School. I've watched your dog relieve herself where children will be playing in a couple of hours. Aren't there enough "No Pets Allowed" signs on the gate you come through (these have been replaced at least twice already), or are you ignoring them? Is a call to Animal Control needed in order to help you obey the law?
Rave To the two men who treated us to birthday cake. We were celebrating two "mature" birthdays and ordered a cake to be split among the four of us, when the bill arrived it was paid for. The men wished the "birthday boys" a happy day and we did, indeed have one.
Rant To the two salespeople at the mall who refused to acknowledge me and my fiance. We are both professionals in our mid-20s, dressed very casually that day. We were the only customers browsing each display of dishes for over 20 minutes without so much as a "hello" from either employee, who both appeared idle. Considering how little we seem to be worth to you, we are taking our business — and that of our 200 weddings guests — elsewhere.
