Meet "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan and American Idol's Blake Lewis at Seattle Dog Winterfest
Seattle Dog Winterfest Saturday and Sunday will feature dog-product vendors, a rescue-dog fashion show and appearances by "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan.

Cesar Millan, the alpha male of the dog-training world, makes Seattle appearances this weekend.

10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Bell Harbor International Conference Center, 2211 Alaskan Way, Pier 66, Seattle. Tickets are $7-$12 for admission; $25 for a meet-and-greet with Cesar Millan from noon-4 p.m. Saturday; and $300 per person for a fundraising dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday with Millan and "American Idol's" Blake Lewis (www.seattledogwinterfest.com, www.gingerspetrescue.orgor www.bellharbor.com).Calling all dog lovers: This weekend is for you.
At the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on the waterfront, vendor booths and seminars will help you find pet-related services and bling, along with advice on everything from pet care to teaching Fido positive tricks. Not to be missed is the fashion show where adoptable dogs from Ginger's Pet Rescue will model the latest fashions. The event will also raise money for Ginger's Pet Rescue of Seattle and the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation.
The highlights of the weekend are a meet-and-greet from noon-4 p.m. Saturday with Cesar Millan, of National Geographic Channel's "Dog Whisperer," and a dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday honoring Millan. The $300-per-person fundraising dinner will also feature a musical performance by "American Idol's" Blake Lewis and a slide show about Ginger's Pet Rescue.
Ginger's Pet Rescue is a local organization working to find homes for dogs previously thought to be unadoptable. The Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation provides financial support and rehabilitation assistance to shelters throughout the United States.
Information in this article, originally published Jan. 9, 2009, was corrected Jan. 10, 2009. Due to incorrect information provided to The Seattle Times, the story said that members of the public could bring their dogs. Dogs are not allowed inside the Seattle Dog Winterfest. The story also incorrectly stated that the event will end at 6 p.m. The event will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
