Rant and Rave!

Readers' rants and raves.

Rave "To the man at the Roosevelt Whole Foods who saved my life. I choked on a piece of meat that I was eating, started to cough and couldn't talk. Thank God you were the closest person to me! While others tried to help and offered to call 911, you acted quickly and resolutely. You performed the Heimlich maneuver and disappeared after I got better. My family is very grateful to you for saving my life."

Rant "To the man in the silver SUV who tried to intimidate me as I rode my bike down Condon Way in Magnolia at 6 p.m. Sept. 3. You tailgated me, crowded me and then laid on your horn right as I was about to pass a car parked on the right. Then you slowed down next to me to tell me I was holding you up. Your excuse was that you were trying to get to the pool, you were already late and that I was slowing you down. What you did was dangerous and illegal. Maybe you should read up on traffic laws before you threaten a bike rider again."

Rave "To the honest individual on Metro route 265 who turned in my badge and bus pass to the bus driver on Sept. 2. It is a one-year, two-zone Sound Transit/Metro bus pass worth more than $1,000 with 11 months left on it. Another rave to the bus driver for holding onto it for one day in case I was on the bus the next day."

Rant "To the person(s) who dumped about two pickup loads of trash on my property in Kenmore between Aug. 28 and 30. Your trash included your old gray front door, red lawn furniture, your kids' pink 'moon shoes,' your leftover tiles and granite samples, wooden furniture, broken lamps, aquarium and more. Anything you had accumulated in your garage or the side of your yard for the past few years you brought and dumped on my property. I am a working mother with a family to take care of. You are a thief who is stealing away time and money from my family because now I have to spend many hours and many dollars to rent a pickup to take your trash to the dump!"

Cheap and cowardly! Call in your rants and raves to 206-464-3279 or e-mail us at Rantandrave@seattletimes.com.
