John Waters to appear in Seattle Arts & Lectures lit series
John Waters ("Hairspray," "Crybaby") will appear June 3 at Benaroya Hall as part of Seattle Arts & Lectures literary series, co-sponsored by the Seattle International Film Festival.
Seattle Times book editor
Seattle Arts & Lectures has announced its final special event for the 2007-08 season — an appearance by writer, actor, filmmaker and pop-culture icon John Waters, famous (or notorious) for the movies "Pink Flamingos, "Hairspray," "Polyester" and "Crybaby."
Waters' appearance, co-sponsored by the Seattle International Film Festival, is unusual for the literary series. But Waters has published several books, including "Shock Value: a Tasteful Book About Bad Taste," and "Crackpot: The Obsessions of John Waters."
Waters will appear at 7:30 p.m. June 3 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Details will be posted on the SAL Web site (www.lectures.org) later this week.
