A star is born ... and a toilet seat's warm

We begin this week with breaking news! Not really. But just for kicks:

THIS JUST IN: Sophia Grace Inglin made the 5 o'clock news just hours after she was born — thanks to Mom, who is KING-5 anchor Mimi Jung. "We called the station to let Mimi's co-workers know," says proud papa Greg Inglin. "They sent a camera over and shot a couple of pictures, and [Sophia] was on the news that night." Sophia was born Aug. 1 at 1:03 p.m. and is the couple's first child. "She has a beautiful dark head of hair and such a sweet demeanor," Greg writes in an e-mail to friends and family. Sure, she's sweet now, but just wait until she realizes she's a star. Meantime, new mom Mimi looked camera-ready, accessorizing her hospital gown with lipstick and pearls. Of course. ...

MARINERS LEFTY PITCHER Ryan Rowland-Smith is the first Major League Baseball player in history to have a hyphenated last name. So what happens if he marries one of those modern girls who wants to not only keep her last name, but add it to his? "Then my signature will be extra long," said the affable Aussie, who apparently is new enough to the Mariners that he's willing to answer really dumb questions from reporters. "When we're signing autographs, I'm always the one holding up the line." ...

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The brand-new Crazyberry storefront on Capitol Hill's Broadway and Olive Way looks suspiciously like a knock-off of Pinkberry, the trendy California-based frozen-yogurt chain that's already inspired downtown Seattle's new Yoberry. Is this what we're doing now? Just taking random words and pairing them with "berry" to be clever? That's Dumbberry. Ooh, this is Funberry! ...

TOKEN SEATTLE SOUNDERS MENTION: Ran into midfielder Kevin Sakuda and told him I'm determined to bring SoccerBack (with apologies to Justin Timberlake). Yes! I'm going all Posh Spice and will wear giant sunglasses and not smile once at any soccer games! Kevin: "Are you going to make fun of us in the paper again?" Oh, Kevinberry. I'm not making fun. WHAT'S MORE FUN than heated toilet seats? Overheard someone at a Seafair party talking about the ones at Umi Sake House in Belltown. Since I previously reported on the talking urinals at Elysian in this column, it seemed appropriate that I call Umi immediately to get to the bottom of this. "It's true. It was our architect's idea. He saw them in Asia and thought they would be a hit," says manager Cody Burns. "People ask if they're supposed to be warm. ... Other than that, people seem to like them. It seems like a pleasant surprise." ...

SEATTLE MAGAZINE IS the new black! At the fourth-annual Fashion First show, KIRO-TV's Mona Locke walked the runway in a floor-length gown made mostly of Seattle Magazine covers. It was straight out of an episode of "Project Runway," specifically the one where they had to design outfits using stuff from a recycling plant in New Jersey. The former first lady looked fabulous, considering the fact that she was at a fashion event wearing ... a dress made out of magazine covers. As Nina Garcia might say: "It's just not aesthetically pleasing." ...

OVERHEARD IN THE FRONT ROW at Fashion First: "I had no idea Sway & Cake was a clothing store! I thought it was a cupcake factory." Yes, this was in the front row. At a fashion show. Only in Seattle.
