Need your own healthful habit?Morning rituals range from the mundane to the productive. To add value to your routine, try these ideas: Drink water. Start on the first of your eight glasses a day while preparing for work. Add a slice of lemon if you don't usually find water appealing. Work a puzzle. If you usually do word puzzles, try Sudoku or go to www.seattletimes.com/comicsgames to challenge a different part of your brain. Exercise. Do gentle stretches if nothing else. You're more likely to find time for exercise early in the day. Eat breakfast, even if it's just a piece of fruit and a glass of milk. Light a candle. It will help you start your day calmly as you meditate or pray, read, write in your journal or respond to e-mails. Send loved ones on their way with a hug. And don't forget to give your animal companions a few loving pats. Copyright © The Seattle Times Company
