Just when you need it most, a list of local indoor play areas

By this point in our rainy season, many parents share the same sentiment: Get me out of the house! A growing number of indoor play areas gives families with young children a chance to burn energy while staying dry and warm. These range from low-cost play parks to more expensive commercial sites with inflatable toys or supervised care.

Play parks

Indoor play parks are popular places where young visitors can enjoy toys, balls, tumbling mats, crawl-through tunnels and push cars.

Play parks (also called tot times or toddler open gyms) are usually held in a community-center gym. Some facilities have smaller parent-child play rooms. Play times are not supervised, and parents must stay with children. Most are open to children age 5 and younger, unless otherwise noted. Call individual locations for more information or closures (many close during school breaks).
