'American Idol' performers swap nights for this week

Posted by Nina Pardo

Fox has announced a switch in performance nights this week due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight.

Therefore, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night.

According to US Weekly, Bowersox, 24, who impressed the judges last week with her performance of Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket," is recovering from diabetes complications in the hospital.

Next week, the schedule will return to the usual format of female semifinalists performing on Tuesday and male semifinalists on Wednesday.

Check back here at 8:00 p.m. Pacific for our live blog of the show.
