Video: Lorenzo Romar; Dana Altman

Not much news from on Montlake today. Don't believe me, here's a link to a video of coach Lorenzo Romar's press conference.

As we noted earlier today, C.J. Wilcox (hip) is improving and was cleared to do a little more in practice. Last week, he was limited to 50 jump shots.

Romar said UW's performance in recent road trips - particularly a 69-67 win two weeks ago at Arizona - should give the Huskies confidence as it prepares for Thursday's game at Oregon.

Due to so many transfers, the Ducks have 19 years of experience, which is the most in the Pac-12. UW has 10 years of experience.

Romar said he didn't expect to play Shawn Kemp Jr. 11 minutes against UCLA and 13 against USC, but the freshman forward played well early and he wanted to reward him with more time.

I asked Romar to compare his team to the 2004-05 group that started 9-2. He said the conference was stronger back then and "that team didn't feel like it could lose to anybody." Despite its five-game winning streak, this year's team doesn't have the same swagger just yet, Romar said.

Oregon coach Dana Altman also met with the media today (below).
