Lorenzo Romar's spent most of his weekly press conference today talking about tomorrow's scrimmage that was later canceled.

Still, there were other interesting tidbits.

Here's the highlights:

--- Romar expects freshman guard Tony Wroten Jr., who underwent minor arthroscopic knee surgery last week, to return Monday. Wroten had scar tissue removed from his right knee. Two years ago, he tore his right ACL during a football injury and missed the junior year of basketball at Garfield High.

--- Romar reiterated the seven freshmen has forced him to slow down the installation of the defense. "There's certain parts of our defense that we would have covered now that we haven't yet, but we will. We'll get to it in time. But we've had to take our time a little bit more slowing down the pace and the teaching."

--- Romar said the entire defensive playbook will be installed in time for the Nov. 12 opener. "It will be in, we just may not be as good at it. But it will be in. Whatever has been in in the past will be in. We could be possibly, a little further behind. Let me take that back, they could be further behind. Remember you got six guys that have it down already."

--- Romar said he's "pleasantly surprised" Abdul Gaddy returned from season-ending knee surgery in January and didn't need to wear a brace or "work himself into the drills."

--- On Scott Suggs: "The grieving part is over I guess. He's ready to move on. He's ready to get back out on the floor. He's ready to first get rid of those crutches because those have kind of become an annoying and little nagging piece of his life right now. But he'll get rid of that and the next thing is he'll get rid of the boot. He's making progress. He'll be able to bear more weight on it pretty soon."

--- When asked about the rebounding, Romar singled out Aziz N'Diaye, Desmond Simmons, Terrence Ross and Wroten as "being able to go out and rebound."

--- At one point in last Thursday's intrasquad scrimmage in front of the UW students, the Huskies had Darnell Gant, Martin Breunig, Jernard Jarreau, N'Diaye and Gaddy.

--- Gant will accompany Romar to Los Angeles for Friday's Pac-12 media day.
