UW vs. Virginia in Maui; Kentucky possible semifinal opponent

Posted by Percy Allen

The Maui Invitational announced the bracket for the Nov. 22-24 tournament and Washington will play Virginia, which pits the Huskies against former Washington State coach Tony Bennett.

The Cavaliers were 15-16 last season in the first year under Bennett.

The game will be played at 9 p.m. Nov. 22 and televised on ESPN2.

Kentucky plays Oklahoma in the same half of the bracket as Washington, which sets up the possibility of a UW-UK matchup in the Maui semifinals. There's a budding rivalry between the schools, which has been ignited by the recruiting battles for Wildcat players Terrence Jones and Enes Kanter.

In the top half of the bracket, Wichita State plays Connecticut and Michigan State faces Chaminade.
