Report: Oregon takes another transfer hit --- and a few other notes

Posted by Bob Condotta

Looks like the fallout from the transition from Ernie Kent to Dana Altman may not be over as there is a report today that guard Malcolm Armstead is transferring. That would make him the fifth player to leave since the end of last season.

Armstead started 27 games for Oregon last year, and had one of his best outings when he scored 21 in a win over UW in January. It seemed likely he would have been a starter again this season, though Atlman also brought in PG Johnathan Loyd in May, who now may be the starter.

Armstead's departure, however, means Oregon is now down to nine scholarship players for the 2010-11 season (here's a story from earlier this month detailing Oregon's roster situation).

IN OTHER NEWS. ...

--- Mason Kelley has some updates on local players playing this weekend in Las Vegas, including Tony Wroten. Here's another story on Wroten noting that Lorenzo Romar was in attendance.

--- This story details how Quincy Pondexter and fellow Hornest' first-round pick Craig Brackins already know each other well.
